What eye drop brands have been recalled?
As a personal injury attorney, it’s crucial to stay informed about product recalls that may impact our clients’ health and well-being. In this case, we have recently seen a series of eye drop recalls that warrant attention:
- EzriCare Artificial Tear Drops: These eye drops were formulated by Aru Pharma Inc. and manufactured by Global Pharma Healthcare PVT LTD. They were recalled due to a link with severe bacterial infections, vision damage, and, in some cases, death. The contaminant identified in the eye drops was Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a dangerous bacteria.
- Purely Soothing 15% MSM Drops: Manufactured by Pharmedica USA LLC and distributed by Purely Soothing LLC, these drops were recalled due to a lack of sterility assurance. Although no related illnesses or complications have been reported so far, using these contaminated eye drops could increase the risk of infections and, ultimately, blindness.
- Artificial Eye Ointment (Batch No. H29): Global Pharma Healthcare produced this ointment, which was distributed by Delsam Pharma. The recall was prompted by potential microbial contamination and compromised packaging, leading to leakage. Using this contaminated eye ointment could result in eye infections and, eventually, blindness.
