How Long Do I Have to File a Car Accident Claim Based on Florida’s Statute of Limitations?

Currently in Florida laws, you have up to 2 years to file a personal injury claim for damages sustained in a car accident case. This comes directly from Florida’s statute of limitations.

If the crash resulted in the death of your loved one, you also have up to 2 years to file a claim from the date of the victim’s death.

Although this may seem like a long time, it will move quickly if you choose to wait. Once those deadlines pass, you cannot pursue damages and compensation for your injuries and losses.
