Why does my insurance company have to pay my medical bills after an accident?

Florida is known as a No-Fault State.  Every automobile insurance policy issued in Florida has a provision called Personal Injury Protection.  This is also known as PIP or Florida No-Fault coverage.  When an automobile accident occurs, regardless of fault, your insurance policy, through your Personal Injury Protection provision, pays for your initial medical bills.  This provision states that your insurance will pay 80% of your initial medical bills up to $10,000.00.
