Update: Our Toys For Tots drive was a huge success! We would like to send our heartfelt thanks to all those who dropped off a donation. THANK YOU for helping us put a smile on a child’s face this holiday season.
Starting Monday (11/7), The Ruth Law Team is accepting children’s toys on behalf of Toys For Tots. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program collects new toys and distributes them as gifts to children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present. The ultimate goal for the program is to “deliver a message of hope to the less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” We are excited to host a collection site this year.
What We Need
The “most needed” toys include those for infants ages 0-2, boys ages 9-12, and girls ages 7-12.
Ideas include, but are not limited to:
- Wallets and watches
- Handheld electronics
- Sports equipment
- Board games and puzzles
- Art supplies
Please ensure toys are new and not gift-wrapped.
While all new toys are graciously accepted, the “least needed” toys are single Barbie dolls, matchbox cars, toys for ages 3-5 and stuffed animals. The organization will not donate realistic looking weapons or gifts with food.
Where to Drop Off Your Toys For Tots Donations
Our main office is located at 8600 4th Street N in St. Petersburg, FL, and will be open for donations Monday thru Thursday from 8:30am to 5pm and on Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Once you turn on to 86th Ave., the parking lot is behind our building to your right. You may place your donation inside the large Toys For Tots box located outside. All toys must be donated by December 12, 2016.
Last year, Toys For Tots received thousands of toys for children in our area! This is an excellent organization, and we are proud to be a part of it this Christmas season! Let’s all work together to help children in the Tampa Bay Area experience the joy of the holidays.
