The Ruth Law Team is proud to be a sponsor for this year’s One Step Closer To The Cure, a wonderful event put on by the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Taking place on September 17, the 5K/10K/1-mile run or walk helps raise money to accomplish several goals in the fight against ovarian cancer: conduct research, develop early detection tests, assist in prevention, offer financial assistance to patients, and educate the community about this terrible illness. We hope you will join us in participating in this important event.

At The Event

Each of our attorneys will be present, and our firm will also host its own booth at the event. We hope you will stop by so we can help answer any of your questions about personal injury law, or simply to meet some of our attorneys and staff. For information on how to participate or volunteer, visit One Step Closer To The Cure 2016.

Ovarian Cancer and Talcum Products

Sadly, many cases of ovarian cancer may be caused by a product found in households across the nation. Evidence dating as far back as the 1970s suggests a link between ovarian cancer and the use of talc powder for feminine hygiene purposes. Despite knowing the potential risks, for years Johnson & Johnson advertised its baby powder and other talc products like Shower to Shower for this type of use. In fact, as many as 10,000 new cases of ovarian cancer may be caused by talc exposure. The Ruth Law Team has joined the fight against Johnson & Johnson on behalf of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and we are currently taking on new cases. Our hope is to help spread the word about this potentially dangerous product and hold companies like Johnson & Johnson responsible for its actions.

About the Foundation

Founded in 2003, the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation was formed on behalf of Celma Mastry in support of women whose lives have been forever changed by the “silent killer.” Unfortunately, ovarian cancer took Ms. Mastry’s life in 2004, but her legacy lives on through this excellent organization we are honored to support.

The Ruth Law Team’s attorneys and staff are extremely passionate about this cause, and we are so glad to help support our local community in this race. We hope you will participate as well! The Foundation needs racers, volunteers, and people to cheer from the sidelines for those running and walking.
