Floria Allstar 8 and under

“Little League baseball is a very good thing because it keeps parents off the streets.”

– Yogi Bera

Yogi’s quote certainly applies to Girls softball. On Monday morning, the Ruth Law Team settlement processor Rick McCarthy had no voice left after a weekend coaching the Fossil Park 8 and under girl’s All Star Team. The team placed 6 out of 120 teams in Florida’s Babe Ruth tournament held June 28-29.

The Fossil Park team put up the most runs in the tournament—36 in four innings! Seven year old Brooke was 14 for 18 hits and nicknamed “Wheels” for her speedy trips to first base. Brooke can run from home to first base in 3.4 seconds.

Several of the girls including, Brooke play on the Pink Panther Girls 8 under team sponsored by the Ruth Law Team. Research indicates the importance of athletics to young girl’s development and supporting young girls in athletics invests in their future.

Congratulations to all the girls and parents of Fossil Park’s 8 and under All Star Team!
