Alex with his clients after trial.

On February 24, 2022, attorney Alex Longo and our team won a huge verdict at the Pinellas County courthouse.  And no, not monetarily, but it was a huge win nonetheless.  This was a trial to determine liability in a car crash.  Our client Sandra was in a car accident in 2015, and for seven years, the other driver’s insurance company claimed she was at fault for the crash.  For seven years, Sandra maintained she did NOT cause the accident.  We believed her.  We tried to settle her case with the insurance company, but they refused.  Yesterday, we brought her case in front of a jury to decide who caused the crash.  And Sandra won.  A jury agreed the other driver was 100% at fault for this accident.  It was a long road getting here, but we did it!

Here is what Sandra’s attorney Alex Longo had to say:

I joined the Ruth Law Team because the team here makes a difference for people.  That is what we do – we help people, or at least try our best to accomplish just that.  And I emphasize “we” because our successes don’t lie on the lawyers alone, we are a team here.  A family. Every single one of us is part of this firm and every single one of us has a role to play. This firm helps others, and a win for one of us is a win for all of us.  To me, there is nothing better I can think to do with my time on earth than to help people.

Yesterday, when the jury returned their verdict in Sandra’s favor, she cried tears of joy. The crash was in April 2015 and she was cited for causing it, and has been told it was her fault for seven years. There were times during those years where she wanted to throw in the towel, call it quits, and give up.  It felt like she’d already lost, and there was no chance of victory. But the verdict yesterday meant vindication and validation for her emotions the last seven years. It reminded her of her own strength and perseverance. I mean, I’m proud as can be of her for sticking through this for so long. I don’t know if I would’ve. Sandra got her piece of justice yesterday, and we’re grateful to her for trusting us to help.

Alex started his legal career defending insurance companies and now, he’s working to fight for our clients on the other side.  We are very proud of his hard work on this case and on ALL his clients’ cases.  Many legal cases can be a battle, and this was one of them.  However, we did not give up.
